For three generations, the Harvey family have been growing grapevines in McLaren Vale from vineyards first planted in 1897. There are now six family-owned vineyards spread across the McLaren Vale region providing the grapes for all of Chalk Hill's wines.
Meet the team
Tom Harvey
Tom was born into the wine industry and grew up amongst the vines on the family vineyard. He has a background in corporate management as a former State Manager of Bunnings hardware group and as a Policy Adviser to a South Australian Premier.
Jock Harvey
Jock oversees the viticultural management of Chalk Hill’s vineyards and provides advice and management to other leading wine companies in the region.
John and Di Harvey
Di and John have been instrumental in the success of Chalk Hill. Together they have grown the vineyards to six producing premium fruit spread across McLaren Vale. Both Di and John have devoted much of their time to the Australian Wine Industry primarily in the pursuit of improving the quality, profitability and sustainability of Australian Viticulture.
Emmanuelle Requin-Bekkers
French born and trained winemaker, Emmanuelle draws inspiration from her experiences in both France and Australia. Emmanuelle's exposure to the wine of Bandol led to Degrees in Biology and Oenology from the University of Montpellier.
