Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep dark red with a purple hue

Aromatics: Ripe fresh mulberry, sweet plum and black fruit, a hint of liquorice and spice

Palate:  Dense dark fruit with a hint of mocha and velvety tannin structure. Well balanced with great length and a silky finish

Cellaring: Will reward cellaring for 10 years or more

Vineyard Notes

This wine is the result of blending some carefully selected parcels harvested at optimum maturity. The Chalk Hill vineyard offers the lifted bouquet, the Slate Creek vineyard the dark rich fruit while the signature of the Wits End vineyard is its velvety texture

Winemakers Notes

Each parcel was harvested and fermented separately. After maturation in French and American oak individual barrels were selected for the Chalk Hill blend

Food Pairing

Shiraz pairs nicely with dishes that complement its fruit and spicy qualities, like red meat, roasted vegetables and pasta
