Colour: Deep purple red.

Aromatics: Dark berry fruit with spice and hints of bitter dark chocolate.

Palate:  Rich dark berry fruits on the palate with a wonderful texture.  Dark chocolate with savoury spice notes, mocha and vanilla undertones.  Well structured with a long finish.

Cellaring: Will reward careful cellaring for 5-8 years.

Vineyard Notes

Sourced primarily from our Chalk Hill block where the age of the vines are between 20-40 years of age. The 2010 vintage produced wine with great varietal integrity, balance and length.  2010 wines will sit nicely in the cellar, or drink well as a younger vibrant style.

Winemakers Notes

The wine is gently handled throughout the winemaking process to ensure that the natural fruit and vineyard characters dominate.  Matured in a combination of new and 2-3 year old fine grained French oak barrels for up to 15 months.

Food Pairing

Chalk Hill Shiraz marinated quali with smashed kipfler potatoes.  Lamb with Shiraz jus.
