Colour: Bright crimson

Aromatics: Lifted blackcurrant and mulberry jam, a hint of violet , lots of cinnamon spice and cherry notes

Palate:  A juicy and rich palate with intense strawberry fruit. Finely textured tannins and well balanced acidity

Cellaring: Will reward cellaring for 5 years or more

Vineyard Notes

Our Sangiovese is planted at the very top of Chalk Hill in shallow ironstone sand and produces small berries of intense colour and flavour

Winemakers Notes

Sangiovese needs time and care to display its richness.  The entire winemaking process is unhurried and gentle.  This patience is rewarded with great concentration of flavour, soft acidity and balanced tannin

Food Pairing

Sausage, basil and pecorino pasta sauce with fresh pasta

Review

"An evocative cherry, spice and cedar bouquet, then a gently complex palate, dominated by cherry with some leather and spice notes and ripe, fine tannins in support"

James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion 2011 - 90 Points
